There were several dozen people out on Sunday to enjoy the old-time music at the Jamboree in Cold Lake.

The Cold Lake Seniors’ Society stage was the platform for the performers, but the real fun was on the dance floor—couples were up dancing from the very first song to the very last. Others enjoyed a coffee and a visit with friends.

There are Jamborees nearly every weekend at community halls in the region. Depending on how many volunteer performers sign up, each will do two or three songs accompanied by a house band. Old favourites and new hits keep toes tapping and dancers dancing.

Sunday’s host Al Donald announced a new Jamboree on the circuit: St. Paul Senior Citizen’s Club will be the venue for a session February 24. Singers, pickers, dancers, and music lovers are all welcome to enjoy the afternoon.

See the Jamboree listing in The Roundup on page 8 for your week-to-week listing of community events.
