If you love the old-time music of a town band, the 4 Wing Band does that sound.
But the band’s upcoming Christmas concert also offers exciting arrangements of current Christmas music.
The band is made up of military and civilian volunteers, and is established specifically to support official occasions at the RCAF’s 4 Wing Cold Lake. Under the direction of Regular Force professional bandmaster Warrant Officer Sylvain Beyries, they also perform informal military occasions and public concerts.
Their Christmas concert, with special guests the 4 Wing Pipes and Drums, takes place Sunday, December 11 at 2:00 pm at the Cold Lake High School theatre in the Cold Lake Energy Centre. Admission is free, non-perishable food donations for the Cold Lake Food Bank are accepted at the door.
The St. Paul community choir Les Musicos has been back in the rehearsal room getting ready for a busy season.
The choir has eight performances booked between now and Christmas. They will be singing at lodges and residences in Two Hills and St. Paul, an elementary school in St. Paul, and concert events in St. Paul and Bonnyville.
Public concerts include the annual Bonnyville Christmas Choir festival at St. Louis Parish Church at 7:00 pm on December 8, and the St. Paul Festival of Carols at the Cathedral on December 18.
