Impact Health says seniors shouldn’t let aches and pains go untreated

Param Singh of Impact Health doesn’t believe in the aches and pains of old age.

“Your age isn’t what causes pain or restricted movement,” he says. “It’s caused by an underlying condition, usually some kind of injury. And there’s often treatment that works just as well for an older person as it does for a younger person.”

In other words, if you would seek help for shoulder or back pain at 30, you can—and should—seek help for it no matter what your age.

Since starting Impact Health in Cold Lake three years ago, Singh and his wife Musarraf Quraishi, also a registered physiotherapist, have added local clinics in Bonnyville and St. Paul. The team uses the most up-to-date evidence-based care, the most modern technology available, and a holistic approach to health that allows each patient to receive their own unique program.

The Impact team includes physiotherapists, a chiropractor, a naturopathic doctor, and massage therapists.

“We see only two patients per hour,” Singh said. “We believe you need the one-on-one care of our licensed, experienced physiotherapists not only to perform the therapy, but to educate you on what is happening in your body and encourage you to be a partner in your care.”

“We treat causes, not just symptoms.”

It all starts with a thorough assessment and a holistic approach to health.

“We treat causes, not just symptoms. That’s what makes the difference to patients, who often experience long-term relief from acute and chronic pain for the first time in many months,” Singh said.

Impact Health has an enviable reputation for their treatment of sports injuries, women’s health issues such as pelvic floor conditions, and work-related injuries and motor vehicle accident injuries.

“We also successfully treat chronic pain conditions where the patient had given up hope they could find relief,” Singh said. Custom orthotics, disability claims, and vertigo and balance issues are among the many other health issues they address successfully.
