Longtime Cold Lake resident Don Dygert celebrated his 100th birthday with two parties on December 2.
Don was joined by family and friends as well as staff and fellow residents of Long Term Care for birthday cake and a beer that afternoon.
Major Rick Quickfall and Chief Warrant Officer George Hammond, from Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment (AETE) at CFB Cold Lake, joined the fun and brought gifts from unit members. AETE was one of the units Don served with during his military career, which began during the Second World War.
Family and friends gathered with Don for a steak dinner and another beer at the Cold Lake Legion branch that evening. Don is a long-standing member of the branch, having received his 50-year Legion membership medal in July 2021.
